Facilities & additional services
Main facilities
The artists in residence will have access to the following amenities and facilities included in the residency fee:
Housing
Private bedroom in a shared home with a fully-equipped kitchen, washing machine, heating and cooling system, and bed linens and towels provided. Private apartments available on request.
Equipment and gears
For the first few years, we will be dedicating a budget to buy art equipment, gear and tools of lasting nature — so just tell us what you need! (N.B. consumables are not included).
Curatorial assistance
Invitation letter, tailored pre-departure residency plan, inspirational hints, individual and group meetings, assistance in procuring materials, authorization and licenses, and support in community interaction and activities.
Studio & Meeting room
24/7 access to studios and meeting/projection areas with wi-fi connection available 24/7 in the historic center of the town of Milis.
Planned Activities
Artists have the freedom of taking part in all the scheduled activities by Nocefresca, such as workshops promoted by other residents and trips included in the calendar (including 1 monthly trip to Cagliari) and therefore covered by the residency fee. Throughout the month, there can be extra activities promoted by Pepebianco Association or other Nocefresca's partners which might require an extra fee if you feel like participating.
Outdoors
Free access to the internal courtyard of Casa Bagnolo, the artists' studios building, available for outdoor work and to relax.
Insurance
Insurance coverage will be provided for work carried out in the studio. Medical insurance is NOT included and is the responsibility of the artist.
Events
The opportunity to showcase your work-in-progress and completed productions during open studios or public talks.
Bikes
Resident artists will have access to our set of bicycles for daily use during their stay, based on the equipment existing at that time.
Archive Publication
of the artists' profiles in the Nocefresca online archive.
Additional services
The following services require an additional fee.
Purchase and delivery of art supplies
If you don't want to travel with some materials (maybe they are too delicate or too heavy), we are happy to buy them for you. We will bring them to your studio just before your arrival.
Italian private lessons
Whether you want to practice through some conversations that rusty Italian learnt at school or acquire some basics of the language, we are happy to put you in contact with a certified Italian teacher for online lessons.
Services offered by Pepebianco Association
Casa Bagnolo, the residency premises, is also the headquarters of Pepebianco Association. By joining them for a small fee, you can have access to an array of services that will make your experience at Nocefresca a bit easier and more enjoyable. All the information about how to join the association and the fees related to each service will be given once accepted for the residency.
Yoga
On multiple occasions during the week, yoga lessons are provided either indoors or outdoors depending on the weather. This activity is also open to the local community of Milis.
Food
At Casa Bagnolo, meals are available thanks to our collaboration with Pepebianco Association. Their staff cooks authentic Sardinian meals with local ingredients upon booking. Although this service is exclusively for the resident artists, during some public activities (such as workshops or open studios) it becomes available for any visitor.
